Part 1

Mia and Nanko stood in the library basement. Nanko the twelve-year old Monk was grinning because of the latest trick that he had done.

Mia studied the shirt and jeans she now wore. She still couldn’t figure out how Nanko was able to change her clothes with magic without her noticing. The Bracelets of Heavenlight were still on her wrists and ankles though.

“Well I guess I can forget about giving these back to Sage. I’m official out of the black arts business. No more dimension travel magic for me.” says Mia as she once again tried to get the bracelets off.

“I can take care of that.” says Nanko as he touches one of the bracelets with a finger.

*Click*

Each of the bracelets on Mia clicked open and fell to the floor.

“How did you do that?” asked Mia as she rubbed her wrists.

“It’s a-”

“If you say Monk trick I’m going to club you with your own staff.” interrupted Mia.

“-um you wouldn’t believe me.”

“Try me.”

“Normally the bracelets are easy to get off, but I told the bracelets to stay closed when you tried to get them off.”

“You told the bracelets to stay closed?” said Mia slowly.

“See! You don’t believe me. Now let me just stick with ‘Monk trick’ from now on.”

“Ok let us say that I believe you... That means it’s your fault they didn’t come off!” says Mia as she took a few steps towards Nanko. Nanko gave her a nervous look.

“Now now Mia calm down. I have a very good reason for doing what I did.”

“Nanko these Bracelets of Heavenlight don’t belong to me. They were suppose to go to the next Princess in the other world. I wasn’t meant to have these.”

“Your wrong. You were totally meant to have them.” said Nanko as he scratched his blonde hair.

Mia paused her approach of Nanko.

“Exactly what are you talking about Nanko.”

“First put the bracelets back on. Then try to use them. You summon the armor by crying out ‘Armor of Heavenlight, Toa Chi’.”

“Are you nuts!?”

“Just humor me. Do this one thing and I’ll explain everything you want to know and more.”

Oh what do I have to lose. It’s not like I haven’t done anything crazier for the last few days.

Mia carefully picked up each bracelet and put one on each wrist and ankle. Each one was made of silver with a golden sun symbol.

“Armor of Heavenlight, Tao Chi!”

As Mia cried out the words, she took the position she always saw Ryo take when he called his armor. What happened next took her by complete surprise. She felt herself literally lift up in the air and slowly began to spin. Mia couldn’t help, but feel afraid. Nothing like this ever happened to the Ronin warriors when they had called their armor.

“Just go with it. Trust in the armor.” said Nanko as he saw the look on Mia’s face.

Mia tried to keep her mind blank and quenched her fears. She began to spin faster and faster and soon began to feel dizzy. The bracelets felt warm against her skin and her body began giving off white light.

*Flash Flash Flash*

Her body began giving off bursts of white light and with each burst Mia found a piece of armor on her body. Finally she was in a complete suit of armor. She stopped spinning and slowly floated to the ground. As she did so a single golden ray of light shot out of her body. The ray of light seemed to become solid and Mia could make out the shape of a spear. She slowly touched the ray of light and found herself holding a silver pole with a golden spear head.

“Oooh I don’t feel so good.” says Mia as she clutched her stomach. The spinning made her feel more nauseated than going on a rollercoastor.

“You can throw up later. Take a look at your armor.”

Mia fought the urge to slam Nanko with the spear she now had and took a look at what she was wearing. The armor seemed to be made of silver and was very feminine. A gold symbol of a sun was on her chest. She didn’t wear a helmet, but wore a simple circlet on her head. Mia expected the armor to feel heavy, but it actually barely felt heavier than a sweater on her body.

“Ok, I’m now wearing the armor. Now tell me why it was meant for me.”

“First let me explain how the armor was created... Let’s call the other world that we just came from the Guardian world. That was the name of the planet we were on. Anyway the Guardian world had a Talpa that invaded it hundreds of years ago, just like a Talpa invaded yours. We also had an Ancient One that banished him and split Talpa’s armor into nine armors which were given to nine families. The one difference here is that it didn’t take Talpa several hundreds of years to get back, it only took him fifty years.”

“How did that happen!?”

“I don’t know, maybe their was some power that helped the Talpa of our world when he was banished. Or maybe our Talpa was just more powerful than yours. The point is that he came back to our world before the Ancient One could prepare. Lord Talpa easily converted the nine holders of the armors to his side. The Ancient One was desperate and needed the help of other forces of Good. So he went to Leono Koji, your double’s ancestor.”

“Does this have anything to do with the reason why my family is royalty in the Royal Guard world?”

“Yep, you see Leono Koji was a scholar much like you. And what she studied was the Gin... Like I told you before, the Gin are spirits. These spirits want to help protect humanity. The Ancient One came to her and asked for her help. Lord Talpa made a deal with the Ancient One. He needed to find one champion to fight each of the nine warriors he now possessed. The champion would fight each warrior individually and if he beat all nine, then Talpa would leave. The Ancient One hoped that the Gin could supply him with a powerful champion. Leono asked the Gin on the Ancient One’s behalf and the Gin did give their help. Using much of their power, they produced the Heavenlight armor to be used against the nine warriors and decreed that Leono would be the champion.”

“Wait a minute. How could Leono possibly defeat the nine warriors and what’s this about the Gin having great powers? So far all I’ve seen them be able to do is talk to certain big mouth brats.”

“If you shut up I’ll get to that, but first take a closer look at your spear head.” said Nanko as he gritted his teeth.

Mia looked at the tip of her spear. It was cone shaped and appeared to be made of gold. It also had spirals that gave it an appearance...

“Is this a Unicorn horn?!”

Nanko nod.

“Well I think your Gin are full of crap if they would cut off a Unicorn’s horn. I didn’t even know they really existed, but for those stupid spirits to-”

“They didn’t cut off the horn. Listen, before they made the armor the Gin were much more powerful. They were even able to take on physical form. And the form they most often took was... a Unicorn. Which is why this spear appears to have a horn of a Unicorn. Now they can only communicate through certain people since they gave so much power to create the armor.”

“Oh” said Mia as she began to feel embarrassed. Nanko decided to continue with the story.

“Now, Leono was now equipped with the Armor of Heavenlight and became the Ancient One’s champion. She had only three weeks to train, but her armor had powers different from the nine other armors. One of these powers was that the wearer could master almost any fighting move with a few hours of practicing it. After three weeks, she faced each of the nine warriors. They were each unprepared. Who would think that a woman who had never fought a real battle before could defeat them? And she beat each one of them due to underestimating her. After defeating the final warrior, Talpa backed out of his deal and stayed. But Leono lead the nine warriors which now joined her side and slayed Lord Talpa. After that the Koji have ruled most of the world and the nine warriors became their protectors. Also the Ancient One started an order of Monks that would always make sure of their being contact between humanity and the Gin.”

“That was an incredible story. Theirs just one problem... IT DIDN’T ANSWER MY QUESTION.” yelled Mia which caused Nanko to cover his ears. She was getting frustrated. She couldn’t understand how she should have the armor when it was suppose to go to the Koji family of the other world.

“Gee thanks, I needed that. Ok, let me explain what happened with me when I first met a Monk at that other world. It was a week after I found myself there...”

Two years ago in another world...

Nanko studied the room that the two guards took him to. It appeared to be a library. When he first got here he had been in complete shock. At first he thought it had been just some weird dream. He woke up and the last thing he remembered was seeing a strange naked man in the woods. Now he appeared to be in a palace. As he got hungry he realized it was no dream. He helped clean pots and pans in the Palace Kitchen to earn food and board. The others thought he was just another boy from a nearby village trying to make a living. Then two guards came up behind him and grabbed him.

“The Advisor Monk wishes to see you.”

Now here he was in the library. A man in his early thirties was seated at the table. He wore blue robes and held a staff that fascinated Nanko. The staff had golden wings with rings on each wing.

“Leave us.” said the Monk as he rose up.

“Your from another world, yes?”

“Well I’m definitely not from around here.”

“Good, now listen very carefully. Their will be another from your world who will come here in two years. I have no idea what will happen when she gets here, but when she goes back make sure you go with her. And also make sure she takes the Bracelets of Heavenlight.”

“Whoah hold on. How do you know another person like me is going show up here in the future? And exactly where is here?”

“Here is another world which is similar in some ways to your world and different in other ways. As for how I know about this person, the Gin can sometimes show me glimpses of the future.”

“The Gin?”

Nanko grabbed his head has he said the words. Pain began to pound into his head.

A girl will come who can master Heavenlight
And bring to her world wrong made right
But if the men of five colors learn what she has become
Death shall claim this one

“Ouch” said Nanko as the words popped into his head.

“You can hear them. I knew you were ‘Gifted’. Your life is about to change dramatically Nanko.” said the Monk as he placed a hand on Nanko’s shoulder.

Back to present...

“After that I became apprenticed to the Monk. You see he knew you would come to that world like me and he said that you needed to take the armor back to your own world.”

“The Gin told both him and you this in a rhyme?”

“Um yeah, I don’t know why, but the Gin say everything in rhyme. And just between you and me they aren’t very good at rhyming. Some of the things they say would send a english teacher up the wall. But theirs one last thing you need to know.”

“What?” said Mia as she felt a sense of dread. Nanko looked serious for once.

“The Gin say that if you tell the Ronin warriors of this armor you found, then you’ll die. That’s what the very first rhyme I heard from the Gin means.”

“Oh come on! The Gin can’t know the future. How in the world could telling the Ronins about the armor cause my death.” says Mia with anger. She didn’t want to keep any secrets between her and the Ronins. After that Princess business, she was sick of secrets.

“I don’t know, but the Gin do see certain things in the future. I’m not saying that it’s fate that you’ll die if you tell them, just that theirs a good chance that it will happen.”

“Can you even still hear the Gin now? I mean you couldn’t hear them when in this world. I don’t think they even exist in this world.”

“I can’t hear them now, but they said they would be able to contact me in a few days after entering this world. My staff sort of gives a signal they can hear and follow. They are capable of traveling to different worlds, but it’s very hard for them to do. They told me I shouldn’t bother waiting for them and should start your training right away though.”

“Um training....?” said Mia.

“The whole point of you getting the armor is to train you to be a champion of good. The Guardian world no longer needs the Heavenlight armor. The Gin wanted the armor moved to a place where evil had a greater influence.”

“But their is no more Talpa here. Their are no more demons or great supernatural powers that can hurt humanity here.”

“Are you sure about that?” asked Nanko as he raised an eyebrow.

Hope it’s interesting so far.
