Part 2
“I think it’s time I took this off.” says Mia and then tries to will the armor off. From what she saw the other Ronins do, they simply willed the armor to go away.
The armor stayed.
Mia squinted her eyes and tried a bit more will power.
The armor still stayed.
“Remember that this isn’t the same kind of armor as the one the Ronins wear. It was created by a different power. You have to take off the circlet to get it off.” said Nanko a little to smugly.
Mia took off the circlet on her head. She was momentarily blinded by a flash of light and then found herself wearing a shirt and jeans again. The circlet itself had disappeared in her hands.
“Now I have to figure out a way to explain why I was gone for three days and why you will be hanGing around.”
“Does that mean you believe me when I say your life is in danger if they learn about the armor?”
“I’m not sure... I guess I’ll keep it a secret for now.” says Mia as she thinks about it. She didn’t want to keep something like this a secret from the guys, but the Gin were able to foretell that she would come to their world. It was possible that the Gin really did see her die in the future if she told the guys about the armor.
“I hope the guys weren’t too worried about me while I was gone though. I wonder if anything interesting happened while I was away.”
First day at Guardian College when Mia is gone...
The Condor building stood near the center of the college. It was exclusively for the EC fraternity. It was surprising how many great favors you could get from a Dean of the college if you blackmailed him for a certain affair he had that would upset his wife.
Fourteen men between their late teens and early twenties stood in a line, while watching a large mirror. The mirror was extremely useful for the Eclipse Brothers. It showed what any person at the college was doing at any time of day. And it’s amazing how much dirt you can get on a student or teacher if you watched him for a week or two.
The mirror had a frame made of dark crystal or what some of the Eclipse Brothers called black ice.
Right now it showed an image of five freshmen at the college. They appeared to be talking to a girl with raven black hair. They couldn’t hear the conversation, but could see looks of worry on all five of the guys.
Finally the man in the center of the line stepped forward and waved his hand. The image disappeared and all that could be seen was a reflection just like a normal mirror.
Unlike the others, the man wore a black coat and appeared to be the oldest among them. His hair was auburn and a single long scar was on his left cheek. He slowly turned around to face the others.
“I must admit Nicholas that they certainly look like the Ronin warriors. But if this is true then we must be careful. We are the last of Talpa’s agents on this world. As Priests it was our job to contact other worlds for Talpa to destroy. Not to battle the Ronins.”
When Lord Talpa first invaded Earth, he already had plans to conquer other worlds. Earth was the only one though that he could make contact with. Then he found out of a power that seemed to stregthen spells to contact other worlds. It was a rare material found in the darkest parts of the Dynasty world. Dark Crystal...
The only trouble was that the Dark Crystal seemed to only work for humans. So he seeked out the most greedy of humans and tested them to see if they were worthy. Dozens died before he was satisfied that he found the ones he wanted. He then had his Priests train them in the black arts and mysticism. And called them the Eclipse Brothers. They set up a base of operation at Guardian college because the fabric of reality seemed less stable there. Right after the last of the Dark Crystal was sent to them, the Ronins battled Lord Talpa. After he was killed, the Priests made do with using their new powers to make their lives easier. They saw no need to try to contact other worlds for any reason. After all, they could run into another powerful being in a different world who would force them to become slaves.
“It is true that we weren’t trained for combat specifically, but think of the power we would have if we defeated the Ronins. Their five armors could make us rulers of this world Master Cane.” says Nicholas smoothly. Their were whispers of agreement to his statement.
“Very well Nicholas, first we will-”
“If you wouldn’t mind Master Cane, I would like to attempt to beat the Ronins single handedly first. No need to endanger us all on the first try.” interrupted Nicholas politely.
Master Cane visibly stiffened. He knew the real reason why Nicholas wanted to try to defeat the Ronins by himself. If Nicholas succeeded then their would be much support for him in the EC fraternity. He could then easily steal away leadership. But Master Cane had seen the Ronins in action on the mirror when they battle Lord Talpa.
His being cocky. Very well then... let him try to defeat them. He doesn’t stand a chance.
“As you wish. But if you fail it will be your head.” says Master Cane with an evil grin. Nicholas returned the grin with a polite smile and bowed once. Then he turned and left.
Second day at Guardian College when Mia is gone...
“We should be looking for her damn it!” cried Ryo as he slammed his fist on the table.
Nearby students looked in their direction and Sage gave Ryo a look that said ‘settle down’.
“We’ve already looked in almost every building at college. Where else can we look? Kathy doesn’t even know where she is.” said Cye.
Mia had been gone for over a day. Luckily Rowen had an extra set of keys for the jeep so they could get back to the mansion. They have considered calling the police, but began to worry if something took Mia that the police couldn’t handle.
“You really don’t think that someone from the Dynasty world kidnapped her, do you?” asked Kento who for once wasn’t eating a mountain of food. The thought of Mia being gone so long had depressed him.
“We shouldn’t assume that every time something bad happens, it has to be supernatural in nature. Perhaps she was in a accident and taken to the hospital.” says Rowen.
All five were now at the food court at college, trying to think of what else to do.
Five girls approached the Ronins as they were deep in thought. Each one looked gorgeous and got quite a few whistles from guys they passed by. Sage with his sixth sense to detect beautiful females in a hundred foot radius, noticed the girls first. He gave a quick cough to get the others attention and gestured towards the girls. Kento put on a huge grin. Both Cye and Rowen began to blush. Sage gave his charming smile and Ryo ignored them and continued to think of the problem at hand.
“Hi! Where here to try to convince you to become EC Brothers!” said the blonde one that was leading them.
Each one of the girls sat in a guys lap. All five guys were surprised, especially Ryo who had not really been paying attention to them.
“EC Brothers?” asked Rowen as he tried to keep his face from turning as red as a tomato.
“Their the best fraternity around here. And you five have been chosen to have the great honor of joining. They’ve sent us to give you a clue of what kind of people you’ll meet once your a EC Brother.” said one with brown curly hair who sat on Kento’s lap.
“All you have to do is wear these badges for a few days and your in.” said a red haired one who sat on Ryo’s lap. She pulled out a badge that appeared to be a black disk with a black ribbon attached. She stuck it on Ryo’s chest before he could protest. Each of the other four girls did the same.
“Show up in the center of Kiwie woods in two days at noon. The woods are right beside the college. We’ll be there to welcome you in with all the EC Brothers, but all five of you have to show up. If even one is missing then you’re going to have to forget about joining.” says the blonde one who now sat in Cye’s lap.
Four of the girls got up and began to leave. Kento gave a whimper as the brown haired one left his lap. The blonde turned around and gave a cough as she noticed one not getting up. The girl with black hair in a ponytail was still sitting in Sage’s lap. She gave a sigh and got up and joined the others. Then all five left, leaving the five freshmen having every male student look at them with envy and hate.
The five girls went off the sidewalk and stood beside a building. They were approached by a man in his early twenties. His hair was black with a streak of white in it.
“Well we did what you wanted us to do Nicholas.” said the blonde with suppressed anger.
“Very good, you don’t have anything to worry about. Your Pop will never know about that abortion you had.” says Nicholas and then turns and leaves.
“That one in green was sure cute, maybe I should have given him my number.” says the ponytailed one as they went back to the sidewalk.
“Trust me, if Nicholas has an interest in them, then we want to stay as far away from those five as possible.” says the blonde as they walked down the sidewalk.
Third day at Guardian College when Mia is gone...
“Have you found a suitable person.” says Master Cane as he looked intently at the two EC Brothers. All three were in his office.
“Yes Master Cane, she is in the closet tied up.”
“Any family that we should worry about?”
“Her father was Professor Zhang who taught a computer class, but we don’t have to worry about that. He has been taken cared of and she has no other blood relatives.”
“Good, make sure she is prepared.”
“Master Cane, what if Nicholas succeeds? Then the girl really won’t be necessary.”
“Trust me Tim. Nicholas has no idea what his facing.”
Back to the present...
“Have you thought of anything yet?” asked Nanko.
“Nope, I just can’t think of a believable lie of why I’ve been gone for three days.”

The door to the basement began to open. Both Mia and Nanko dived behind a stack of books. A woman in her fifties entered. She looked extremely thin and wore a tacky dress. Mia recognized her as Mrs. Oslin, the librarian.
“Be quite, that’s Mrs. Oslin. She’ll be furious if she finds out were here.” whispers Mia.
“I have an idea.” whispers Nanko and his eyes showed excitement.
Nanko jumped out from behind the stack of books.
“Thank God your here! It’s been days since we saw another person!” shouted Nanko as he approached the now totally shocked Mrs. Oslin.
“Noooo” moaned Mia as she beat her head against a stack of books. Then she noticed that Nanko was not wearing his robes or carrying his staff. Instead he wore jeans, shirt, and a leather jacket. And instead of a staff in his hand, he had a bookbag.
“What are you doing here! This place is off limits.” said Mrs. Oslin in a shrilled voice.
“What am I doing here!? What am I doing here!!! I was just looking for a book when I found this room. Me and my friend step in and the door closes behind us. We try to open it and it’s locked! We’ve been locked down here for three days! This is child abuse! I’ll sue!” shouted Nanko at the top of his lungs. Mia stops beating her head as she gets at what Nanko is doing.
Mrs. Oslin instinctively feels fear as she hears the dreaded word ‘sue’.
“Oh child I’m so sorry. Now let’s not talk about suing. That’s the devil’s way. What did you say about a friend?”
Mia steps up from behind the bookshelf.
“Oh Mia, please talk to this child and convince him of the evils of suing. I’m terribly sorry about this happening. I’ll make sure all your professors are notified of what happened.”
“Thank you Mrs. Oslin. Ok Nanko, I won’t hear anymore talk of suing.”
“But I wanna sue!” says Nanko as he stomped his foot childishly.
“That’s enough! Let’s go. If you will excuse me Mrs. Oslin, I need to see my friends so they know I’m ok.” says Mia as she dragged Nanko behind her.
