Dynamite
Part 8
Ryo waited for the White Armor of Inferno to come to him. But after five minutes of waiting it was obvious that the armor wasn’t going to show. Beams of energy fired from Ryo’s body and hit Kento, Rowen, Sage, and Cye.
I felt the armor! I could feel it’s power. But something simply stopped it from coming to me...
*Thrack*
Ryo is hit on the head by a demon soldier wielding a staff. He tries to get his wits together and defend against the next assault.
In the Condor Building...
Mia sighed as she twiddled her thumbs.
Tim suddenly raises his head and smiles.
“So what are you so cheerful about?” asked Mia while feeling a little anger over the whole situation.
“Oh that’s right. You can’t hear them. I can help with that.” says Tim and makes a gesture towards the statue.
“Aaaggghhh!”
Mia is shocked at hearing Rowen’s scream.
“Damn it! I can’t keep these guys back much longer!”
It sounded like Kento’s voice.
“What are you doing to them?” cried Mia as she took a step forward.
“Oh Master Cane is teaching them a lesson. Now that I think about it, a few more soldiers should finish off the Ronins. Two of you go to Limbo world at once!” says Tim as he makes another gesture towards the statue. Two of the soldiers guarding Mia faded away.
“Aren’t you afraid that I’ll take out this one and destroy the statue?”
“I’ve seen you fight yesterday. It wasn’t very impressive. I believe one is more than enough, especially when you don’t have your spear.”
He doesn’t know how much I improved on fighting, but it really doesn’t matter if I can’t get past that protection spell. If only I could do that special technique.
Mia’s eyes began to get red. She wanted to cry, but knew that was the last thing she should do. She stared at the spear with a venomous look.
Why couldn’t you work! I need to break that statue. My friends need me!
Mia did a quick intake of breath. The tip of her spear gave a glow for just a few seconds. Luckily, neither Tim or the soldier noticed.
It looks like you’ll work now, but why? Why did you work when I tried to save Nanko? Maybe... I’m able to only use my special technique when it’s to save my friends. That’s why your responding right now. Because I know that my friends need me to save them.
Mia took a glance at the demon soldier beside her. She could take out the soldier in five minutes if she was lucky, but that would still give Tim enough time to bring more demon soldiers to stop her. Mia sighed and then noticed the turkey on the table.
It might just work...
“Ugh I can’t take this anymore! I’m sorry Tim, but I need to take out my frustration on something. I’m going to beat the crap out of this turkey!” says Mia as she grabbed the turkey. She ripped open a hole in the turkey and began pulling out stuffing.
“You’re going to destroy our turkey?” asked Tim as he gave Mia a puzzled look. He had expected her to curse him, attempt to kill him, and even attempt to bribe him. But this was something he definitely wasn’t expecting.
“I need to do something! Just let me take my aggression out on this thing, ok?” says Mia as she finished taking out the stuffing in the turkey. Now she was attempted to make the hole bigger. As if she was going to tear the turkey in half. The demon soldier was just as confused as Tim and wasn’t sure whether he should attempt to stop Mia.
“That is enough Leono. I never expected to meet such a childish adult.” says Tim sternly. The turkey was suppose to be for Master Cane as a victory meal.
The hole looks big enough. Here goes nothing!
“You want the turkey? Here, catch!” says Mia as she lifted the dead bird over her head and made a move as if to throw at Tim. The soldier took a step towards her.
Mia swung the turkey, but not at Tim. Turning to the right quickly, she aimed the turkey right at the demon soldier’s head.
*Plop!*
The soldier’s head fit perfectly through the hole that Mia had made. She didn’t waste anytime and went straight for her spear.
Kento was right, you really can fit your head in that thing. Now I need to destroy that statue. Come on spear, my friends need my help.
Mia quickly picked up her spear as the demon soldier was tearing the turkey off his head. Tim was shouting orders to stop her. In five seconds the demon would be free to stop her. She held up her spear in the air.
Ray of Light, Strike!
Mia let go of her spear. Every part of her body seemed to work perfectly. The spear once again became a white bolt of energy as it flew in the air. Their was a combination of red and white light as the spear neared the statue.
*Crack!*
The spear now stood imbedded inside the statue. A giant crack had formed due to the impact.
In three seconds the room became ten times more crowded than before. Ronins and demon soldiers surrounded Mia.
“What happened?” shouted Master Cane in a rage.
“Forgive me Master Cane, it was that girl. She tricked me!” says Tim as he groveled at Master Cane’s feet.
Arrow Shockwave!
The expression on Master Cane’s face was complete surprise as both he and Tim were blown away by a golden blast of pure energy. The wall which was behind them was now destroyed as well.
Mia looked over at Rowen. He had a grim expression on his face and his left leg was bleeding severely as he held his bow up.
Mia herself began to see dots. She hadn’t gotten any sleep in twenty-four hours and using her special technique seemed to have drained her strength. She gave a soft moan as she felt her legs give way. Two arms held her up.
“Are you ok?”
She tried to shake her head and stay awake. Looking up she could see Sage’s face with an expression of concern. She heard a growling sound that came from Kento’s direction.
“I’m fine. It just took a lot out of me, using my special power.” says Mia as she pushed away from Sage.
The demon soldiers began their own attack after getting over the shock of seeing their master be destroyed.
“You just rest, we’ll take care of the rest of these soldiers.” says Sage as he easily parried a blow from one soldier. Now that they were back in their own world, they felt their strength almost instantly return. Mia nods.
The Ronins quickly push the fighting away from Mia to the other side of the room.
As Mia watches the five Ronins battle the demon soldiers, she spots something in the corner of her eye. A paper air plane was flying through the window she had crashed through. It landed right beside her and she picked it up. As she unfolds it, she finds words on it.
The Gin say that theirs an innocent girl in the house.
Take the door behind you and look in the second room to your left.
Your Lovable Monk
Mia looked up and could see that the Ronins had their full attention at beating the soldiers. She crept away through the door. As she went down the hallway she stopped at the second door to her left. When she attempted to open it, she found it locked. She tore the lock off the door with ease.
I could get use to this super strength. Why would their be a little girl in this house though?
She slowly opened the door and looked in. The girl was in the farthest corner of the room. She hugged her legs and was breathing very fast. Mia couldn’t help but notice how unusual she looked with her white hair and red eyes.
“It’s ok. I’m one of the good guys. I’m here to take you home.” says Mia as she slowly approached the girl.
“No! Keep away! You’re just like those monsters! All covered in armor!” she cried as she stood up and got ready to run.
“Will it make you feel better if I didn’t wear my armor?” asked Mia as softly as she could.
Nanko said I couldn’t reveal my secret to the Ronins. He didn’t say I couldn’t reveal it to anyone else.
“Ma...Maybe...” says the girl reluctantly.
Mia carefully takes off her circlet and with a flash of light appeared in her normal clothes.
“See? I’m just a normal person, just like you. I just dressed up in that armor to fight those monsters you saw.” says Mia as she seats down.
“What’s your name?” asked the girl as she takes a few steps towards Mia.
“Mia Koji, what’s your name?”
“Lilly Zhang”
She’s the Prof’s daughter! The EC Brothers must have been the ones that killed him. How am I going to tell her what happened...
“I wanna go home.” says Lilly which jolts Mia out of her thoughts.
“Ok, let’s take you home.” says Mia as she stands up. She offers Lilly her hand and she tentatively takes it.
“Hey where’s Leono?”
Mia turns around to see four of the guys in the hallway. Kento appeared missing. She feels Lilly putting her hand in a death grip.
“It’s ok, their good guys too.” says Mia to Lilly who loosens her grip slightly. She still looks at the four armored men with fear though.
“Whose the pretty girl, Mia?” says Sage while giving Lilly a wink. She turned bright red.
“This is Lilly. As for Leono, I saw her leave the building so I guessed that it would be safe to enter. I went up the stairs and found her in this room.”
Disappointment showed on Sage’s face.
“Whose Leono?” asked Lilly.
Uh-oh
“This pretty girl in silver armor. She always ends up disappearing on us.” says Sage.
“Oh” says Lilly as she gives Mia a glance.
“No! How could they!?”
Kento appears in the hallway, cradleing what was left of the turkey.
“Those monsters! Now look at it. They tore out all the stuffing and then shredded it.” says Kento as he eyes began to water.
Cye simply rolls his eyes and shakes his head.
Lilly gives a little giggle and for the first time smiles. But the smile didn’t last and her face soon took a look of depression again.
“Let’s go to the mansion guys. Lilly, theirs something very important I have to tell you at the mansion before I take you home, ok?” says Mia. She didn’t want to tell Lilly about her father right here with all the Ronins watching.
“Ok” muttered Lilly and kept hold of Mia’s hand.
Mia had parked the jeep near the entrance to the college. Nanko was at the entrance of the college, waiting for them. Lilly wanted to sit in the front with Mia which caused it to be even more crowded in the back. Nanko ended up sitting in Cye’s lap, which was extremely humiliating for him.
When they reached the mansion, Mia took Lilly to her room upstairs. When she was sure that the door was locked, she turned around and faced Lilly. Mia had no idea where to begin.
“Is Daddy in Heaven?”
Mia looked at Lilly in surprise. She couldn’t bring herself to say the word ‘yes’ so she simply nodded.
“I guess I knew. I.. I cried a lot when they put me in that room. At first I thought it was because I was scared. But it was really because I knew what had happened to my Daddy. He was my only family.” said Lilly as her eyes began to water. She quickly wiped them with her hand and then stared at Mia.
“They don’t know that you wear that silver armor, do they?” said Lilly. It was more of a statement then a question. It was obvious that Lilly was a very bright girl.
“No..the only other person who knows is that boy you met. It’s sort of a important secret.” says Mia slowly.
“Lilly, I know what’s it like to lose your family. My Grandfather died a few years ago and he was all I had. But with some help from five good friends, I learned to cope.” said Mia as she felt the old pain of losing him.
“But I don’t have any friends.” muttered Lilly as she looked down at the floor.
“Well you have one now. And if you want, you can stay here as long as you would like to.” said Mia sternly.
“I...I don’t know what I want. I think I need to be alone for a few hours.” said Lilly as she looked up.
“Ok, I know just the room for you. Come on.”
Mia leads Lilly to the third room down the hall. She could hear Lilly do a quick intake of breath at the sight of the room. Stuffed animals were in every corner and all sorts of toys and dolls were on the ground.
“This used to be my room, before I got older.” says Mia as she smiled. She felt something rub her leg and looked down to find Whiteblaze giving her a friendly stare.
“Eep” says Lilly as she takes a few steps back.
“This is Whiteblaze. His really just a kitten once you get to know him.” says Mia as she scratched the tiger’s head, causing him to produce a purr. Lilly came a little closer to Whiteblaze. She carefully put her hand on Whiteblaze’s fur and began to stroke it.
“I better check on the guys. Tell me if you need anything.” says Mia as she walked down the stairs. Lilly simply nodded and continued to stroke Whiteblaze.
