Dynamite
Part 2
Mia began opening the book. As she did so, she remembers the conversation she had with Rowen. It was on the next day after she had found the book.
Three months ago...
"Rowen I have a theory and want your opinion on how plausible it is." said Mia as she entered Rowen's room. Rowen was the most intelligent out of all five Ronins when it came to theories and hypothesis. He spent much of his time trying to prove scientific theories that he had formed for science projects and papers.
"What is your theory?" asked Rowen as he continued to read his biology book.
"We know of the existence of the Dynasty world which Lord Talpa had come from. Isn't it very likely that other worlds also exist?"
Rowen closed his book and took a few seconds to run Mia's theory in his head.
"Actually I think that is a very plausible theory. We know of legends which talk about the Dynasty world. There are also legends about other worlds which could be true."
"Do you think there is a way to contact these worlds?"
"I don't know of any scientific way to do so. I suppose magic could be used since that is how the Dynast world came into contact with our world. But I don't know anything about magic really so I can't say for sure."
"Thanks Rowen." said Mia as she turned to leave.
"Hey wait! What made you think of that theory?"
"Oh it's just something that crossed my mind as I was reading."
Rowen shrugged his shoulders and opened his biology book....
Now Mia was holding a book that could very well let her contact another world. Mia had read every page of the book twice. When the Ronins went back to high school Mia became bored out of her mind. She had missed the adventure and companionship she had felt with the Ronins during the battle with Talpa. College work just wasn't enough to keep her mind busy. And Kathy was a great friend, but was always busy trying to get the top grades for her honor classes. So when Mia found this book, she decided to make it her personal project to contact another world. She found a spell that would 'open a window to another world'. It looked like the spell would allow her to have a vision of another world. After studying the spell for weeks, she had finally decided to cast it. She got Kathy to get the items she would need for the spell. When Kathy asked what she needed five candles and chalk for, she told Kathy that she was decorating her room.
That was the most pathetic excuse I've ever said. But I don't think she really cared about what I was really going to use this stuff for.
Mia took the chalk out and began to carefully write a Pentagram star on the floor. Then she placed each candle at a point of the star until they formed a circle. The spell required the caster to draw power from 'five great powers that your on friendly terms with'. The book made various suggestions of using certain deities or spirits to help you. Mia wasn't planning to use deities or spirits though. She was going to try to draw from five powers that she knew existed with absolute certainty. The five Ronin armors....
Each candle represented a certain armor. Red for Wildfire, Green for Halo, Dark Blue for Strata, Light Blue for Torrent, and Orange for Hardrock. Mia wasn't sure if the armors could actually be asked to give their power in a spell, but figured it was worth a try. As Mia sat cross-legged in the center of the Pentagram she had a thought.
Maybe I should forget about this. I don't need to go and try to do something like this just to try to add some excitement to my life. Now that the guys are going to the same college as me, I could just spend time with them.
Mia shook these thoughts away. After all this preparation she had to try this spell just once.
Mia took a deep breath and lit each candle. Then she closed her eyes....
I wish to open a window
I wish to create a crack
I wish to make a hole
Between this reality and the next!
Mia touched the red candle...
Wildfire I ask for your power!
Mia touched the green candle...
Halo I ask for your power!
Mia touched the dark blue candle...
Strata I ask for your power!
Mia touched the orange candle...
Hardrock I ask for your power!
Mia touched the light blue candle...
Torrent I ask for your power!
Then Mia kept her eyes closed and concentrated as hard as she could...
At the food court...
"Boy is this *chop chump* burger good." said Kento, then he stuffed his mouth with another one.
"Watching you eat is like watching a black hole," said Cye teasingly, "fascinating and terrifying at the same time."
"I wonder where Mia is at." said Ryo as he looked around.
"Probably at class. You know I've been thinking about what Kathy said." says Sage.
"About how none of ever went on a date with Mia before?" asked Kento right after he ate his fifth burger.
"Well it's not surprising since she was a mature college student and we were just 'immature high school teenagers'." said Rowen with a smile.
"Yeah but now were college guys. Maybe I should ask her out." says Sage more to himself then to the others.
Ryo gritted his teeth and said slowly, "I don't think that would be a good idea Sage."
"You think?"
"Come on Sage, you think Mia is going to go out with a guy who changes girlfriends every week." says Kento with a grin.
"His right. Mia is familiar with all your flirt moves. Including the one of buying out the last ticket to a movie so that your date has to sit in your lap." says Cye.
"Hey stick with what works is my motto."
Ding!
It was a very soft sound. That only they could hear. For just a second each Ronin gave off a slight glow. Each glow the same color as their armor....
"Huh?! What is with our armor?" says Kento.
"You think anyone noticed that?" asked Rowen as he looked around.
"I don't see anyone staring at us so I guess not." said Ryo as he also took a quick glance at their surroundings.
Three tables away a man was trying putting on his best poker face while his friend was talking to him.
"And so I told her if she didn't want Daddy dearest to find out she was cheating-"
"Tim be quite and listen. Don't look directly at them, but theirs five guys sitting at a table to my right."
"I see them, so what?"
"I saw something very interesting. I want to call a meeting of the Eclipse Brothers."
"Your sure you want to do that Nicholas. It's your right as a member to do so. But if you don't have a good reason their could be lethal consequences..."
"I'm positive. Send an email to the others to meet at the Condor building tomorrow. If you can't reach them by email use other means...."
Both young men got up from the table and left.
Back with Mia...
Mia had stayed seated and kept her eyes closed for ten minutes, but didn't have any vision or image of another world coming to her mind.
Ughhh! I can't take this anymore. My legs are falling asleep and I think I have a cramp! Maybe I misread the spell. It was a long shot anyway.
With a sigh Mia opened her eyes and got up.
"Uh-oh"
They were the only words Mia could think of. She was no longer in the basement of a library, but in a very large hallway. The walls were made of white marble and tapestries were hanging against the wall. Their were also several doors along each wall.
"PRINCESS MIA! What are you doing there?"
Mia slowly turned around. Both her body and mind were numb with shock at seeing her new surroundings. And what she saw behind her only added to the surprise. Sage stood before her dressed fully in his Armor of Halo. On his face was an expression of annoyance.
"Well?"
"Um er der.... Sage why are you wearing your armor?"
"Princess I don't know why your dressed like that or why your out of you chambers when you should be getting ready for classes, but it's time to get you to your room NOW."
Sage took Mia's arm and pulled her firmly but gently down the hall. After five minutes of walking they reached a door with a symbol of a gold Sun on it. By this time Mia felt less shocked and more curious of what was going on. As Sage was about to open the door, Mia grabs his arm to stop him.
"Listen Sage, I don't know what's going on here, but I plan to get some answers. Why do you keep calling me Princess? I tried casting a spell that allows you to contact another world, next thing I know I'm here with you."
"A spell?"
"Yes a spell damn it! I found it in the library and wanted to try it out. And you still haven't answered my question!"
"Princess maybe we should let you sleep a bit more. You probably don't feel well." said Sage gently to Mia.
Mia couldn't help but feel herself getting angry. Sage was starting to treat her like a child.
Without further pause Sage opened the door in front of them. Sage's eyes registered shock and he quickly entered the room. Mia looked inside and saw Sage holding a figure in his arms. He appeared to be checking for a pulse, but not able to find one. It took Mia a moment to realize the figure looked exactly like herself.
"Thats...thats me! I.. I... where am I?!!"
Mia saw all her surroundings begin to fade away. And slowly blackness took over....
